  • Pyrethrum

    Repels aphids, leafhoppers, spider mites, harlequin bugs, ticks, pickleworms and imported cabbage worms.

  • Radish

    Deters cucumber beetles. Radishes may protect squash from squash borers. Chervil and nasturtium are known to improved growth and flavor of radishes.

  • Raspberry

    Should not follow: eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, or peppers and other raspberry varieties in the crop rotation.

  • Rhubarb

    Rhubarb helps deter red spider mites and also protects against black flies.

  • Rose

    Tomatoes and Allium protects roses from black spot while parsley deters rose beetles. Lavender makes a great cover for mature roses' bare legs.

  • Rosemary

    Repels carrot flies, bean beetles, cabbage moths.

  • Rue

    Repels Japanese beetles. Keep it far away from Sweet Basil; plant near roses and raspberries.
